We celebrated our 40th anniversary is by commemorating 40 projects from over the years that were, and still are, meaningful to us. Presenting Drahota’s 40 in 40!

Chimney Ridge Resort in Breckenridge, Colorado was a monumental project for Drahota. In 1987, it was the company’s first million dollar job and the catalyst that set the wheels in motion for 40 years in business. This townhome development included 24 units in two separate buildings on a steep slope in Breckenridge.

They were extremely friendly and professional and we would definitely recommend them for any remodel or new build project!” -Doug Markley

Drahota has worked on several nationwide projects with Healthsouth; including this 12,000 square foot surgery center with three operating rooms located in Ukiah, CA. Ukiah, a small historical community, is home to the only living Sequoia Tree in the nation. This tree happened to be located on the construction site. Being the tallest tree in the town, contractors were easily directed to the site using the tree as a landmark.

Located in the heart of wine country, the surgery center was built on a vacant lot in the middle of a heavily residential part of town. Therefore, special accommodations were met to ensure the safety and cleanliness of the community. The $1,831,227 medical center was completed in 1996.

Drahota had the opportunity to construct the world class, 20,000 SF Ptarmigan Golf Course Clubhouse located in Fort Collins, Colorado. Drahota worked diligently to ensure that the necessary project details and finishes were top-quality, and to ensure the project was completed on time in 1995.

A key issue Drahota faced during the construction process was housing the HVAC units inside the roof structure. Therefore, a special design element was selected to ensure that the character of the façade was maintained. Although this was not a standard process for construction, it was important to maintain the look and feel of this high end project and to meet the owner’s expectations. This also provided the club’s users a true ambiance of pleasure and comfort.

One of Drahota’s first commercial projects ever completed was the Coldwell Banker Everitt & Williams Office Building located in Fort Collins, CO. Finished it 1998, the project was a great example of Drahota’s ability to complete a 15,000 SF commercial office building in only one year.

Some of the masonry weighed as much as one ton and took an entire day to set just one stone. Twigs and branches from Aspen trees created some of the final touches to the doors and cabinets. Drahota broke ground on the project and delivered the building nine months later for a grand opening on New Year’s Eve.

The owner had specific scheduling needs that had to be met from an operational standpoint for the hospital and Drahota was heavily involved during preconstruction and construction, which allowed the project to finish ahead of schedule.
